La Alcaldía del Distrito Nacional (ADN) y el Gobierno del Japón mediante su embajada en el país firmaron este lunes un acuerdo de donación para la construcción de una estación de suministro de agua potable en el sector La Ciénaga, esto como parte del “Programa de Asistencia Económica No Reembolsable a Proyectos Comunitarios de Seguridad Humana” que dicha nación lleva a cabo.
El acto, realizado en el Palacio Consistorial, Ciudad Colonial, estuvo encabezado por la alcaldesa Carolina Mejía y el embajador del Japón en la República Dominicana, Takagi Masahiro, quienes suscribieron este acuerdo de donación por un monto total de US$137,676.00 equivalentes a unos 7.7 millones de pesos, como contribución de parte del pueblo y del gobierno del Japón hacia la República Dominicana.
A través de este proyecto, al establecer una estación de suministro de agua potable en Domingo Savio, gestionado por la Alcaldía del Distrito Nacional y con la debida supervisión e implementación de la Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD), alrededor de 20,000 residentes en Domingo Savio podrán beneficiarse, contribuyendo así a la mejora del ambiente sanitario.
“Este es un proyecto fundamental para la salud de la población que necesita mejores condiciones de vida y el elemento de agua potable es muy importante. Espero que den un paso adelante para mejorar su vida”, manifestó el embajador Takagi Masahiro.
Al proveer este suministro de agua potable, la ADN y el gobierno del Japón buscan contribuir y mejorar las condiciones de vida de toda la comunidad y facilitar las tareas diarias al brindar el preciado líquido.
“Este apoyo de su gobierno a la ciudad de Santo Domingo en La Ciénaga es una cooperación fundamentalmente de amor porque el que piensa en el otro para que viva mejor lo hace desde el amor. Este proyecto va a impactar a más de 20 mil personas, una población que por años ha sufrido deficiencias en el suministro, y con esta estación de agua potable y el acompañamiento técnico de la CAASD nosotros vamos a garantizar que la gente reciba el servicio de agua potable tan necesaria para mantenerse sanos, y eso redunda en su bienestar y sobretodo en que tengan la vida digna que merecen”, sostuvo la titular del cabildo. Mediante esta modalidad de Cooperación Económica No-Reembolsable o Donación del pueblo japonés al pueblo dominicano, el Gobierno del Japón desea contribuir al mejoramiento y desarrollo de la sociedad dominicana, y al mismo tiempo, estrechar aún más los lazos de amistad y cooperación existentes entre el Japón y la República Dominicana.
Estuvieron presentes en este acto de firma de acuerdo de cooperación desde la Embajada del Japón: Ikezawa Yoshimi, asesora de Proyectos de Cooperación; Hana González, asesora de Proyectos; y Tsuchiya Chisa, encargada de Asuntos económicos. Desde la alcaldía estuvieron Jesús D’Alessandro, secretario técnico; Claudia Sarante, directora de Desarrollo Comunitario; Carolyn Taveras, coordinadora de la Secretaría Técnica; entre otros miembros del equipo directivo de ADN.
