El director de la Oficina Metropolitana de Servicios de Autobuses (OMSA), Radhamés González, negó este lunes que la institución vaya a desaparecer y la privatización de ese servicio.
Entrevistado en el programa “Despierta RD”, el funcionario advirtió que la creación de corredores de autobuses operando mediante consorcios de empresas de transporte, esta dentro del marco de la ley.
“La Ley 63-17 que creó el Instituto Nacional de Tránsito y Transporte Terrestre (Intrant), establece que la OMSA igual que el Metro y el Teleférico debe convertirse en una empresa de capital público privada”, respondió a los periodistas Cristian Cabrera, Lorenny Solano y Gibert Guzmán.
Sostuvo, que en la Nuñez de Cáceres, Winston Churchill y Charles de Gaulle, donde fueron sacados los autobuses de la Omsa, era porque estaba operando esa entidad junto a otros sindicatos y que el objetivo de ese plan fue generar cambios positivos en el transporte.
“Entonces, si nosotros somos el estado y lo que queremos es transformar el transporte, estamos obligados a transportar pasajeros en ruta que no son las normales de los demás corredores”.
Sobre qué el costo de cada pasaje era de 15 pesos con la OMSA, ahora les cuesta 35 pesos a los ciudadanos en esas rutas, respondió que la institución que dirige da “un servicio social y no podemos estar en todos lados, eso es imposible”.
Asimismo, indicó que la desaparición de casi 400 carros de concho que durante años recorrían la avenida Winston Churchill transportando pasajeros, han disminuido los tapones en esa vía.
Precisó que los autobuses que fueron retirados de las principales avenidas del gran Santo Domingo, han sido utilizados para fortalecer otras rutas como la Nueva Barquita y la avenida Abraham Lincoln.
Destacó, que tan solo en el pasado mes de marzo, la Omsa recaudó la cifra récord de 35 millones de pesos: “Eso significa que si usted divide esa cantidad entre 15 pesos que es el pasaje, evidentemente estamos superando los 2 millones de pasajeros”.
