El precandidato a senador por la provincia de Monte Plata, doctor Asmín Aquino, sugirió a los alcaldes de los cinco municipios y a los siete directores de los distritos municipales presentar este año su plan de ordenamiento territorial, para el desarrollo económico sostenible de la demarcación.
Aquino explicó que mediante el plan de ordenamiento territorial municipal se podrá definir las áreas para las instalaciones de empresas industriales, crecimiento poblacional y zonas para el desarrollo ecoturístico.
El dirigente político expuso que los municipios de Monte Plata deben definir con urgencia dónde se colocarán las empresas de carácter industrial y agrícolas, a fin de tener control de las zonas y el proceso de los desechos sólidos.
Explicó, además, que el plan debe definir el crecimiento demográfico, con el objetivo de evitar que las tierras productivas sean tomadas para asentamientos humanos, los cuales crecen sin ningún tipo de servicios.
Aquino precisó que, mediante el plan de ordenamiento territorial municipal, la Gobernación provincial podrá trabajar con las necesidades prioritarias de las demarcaciones al poner como ejemplo el aumento de la capacidad eléctrica, sistema de agua potable y de uso agrícolas, así como las áreas de salud por habitantes, entre otras.
Acotó que esté plan ayudará a definir las instalaciones de los mercados y las rutas de los vertederos con capacidades recicladoras.
El aspirante a senador dijo que el plan de ordenamiento territorial municipal también facilitará las inversiones para el desarrollo ecoturístico de la provincia al poner como ejemplo a Bayaguana, como uno de los municipios pilares en ese sector.
Aseguró que Bayaguana y Sabana Grande de Boyá poseen todas las condiciones para que, a través del plan de ordenamiento territorial municipal se pueda desarrollar ambos municipios en materias ecoturísticas, definiendo las zonas de explotación y el incentivo a los inversionistas locales y extranjeros.
Asmín Aquino indicó que el potencial de Yamasá y Peralvillo en materia agrícola debe ser protegido, y que el plan de ordenamiento territorial municipal está llamado a esos fines, con la objeción de cualquier tipo de explotación que ponga en peligro el sector agropecuario.
Finalmente, planteó a los alcaldes de la provincia de Monte Plata realizar un cónclave para definir las políticas de desarrollo, a los fines de garantizar un crecimiento económico de cada una de sus demarcaciones.
